The ultrasonic water meter is equipped with a transmitter and a receiver. When a stream of water passes through the water meter, the transmitter shoots an ultrasonic beam at the stream and waits for it to be reflected back. The receiver picks up the ultrasonic waves reflected back and measures their time difference.

According to the ultrasonic propagation speed and reflection time, the ultrasonic water meter can accurately calculate the velocity and flow of water. Moreover, because the ultrasonic measurement is contactless, the ultrasonic water meter has a longer service life and better reliability.
